The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, yesterday, paid a visit to the Community Primary School, Mowo -Nla, Ikorodu, to congratulate two pupils – Adedayo Farouq and Ugwumade Ifechikwu, for their exceptional feat in qualifying for the 2025 Governor’s Quiz Competition.
Both emerged victorious at the District II level, beating strong contenders from Kosofe, Epe and Shomolu LGEAs.
The two ambassadors will be representing Ikorodu LG and the entire Education District II at the state level of the competition.

“In a heartwarming and inspiring moment, I paid an unscheduled visit to Community Primary School, Mowo-Nla, a school now basking in the glow of excellence, to personally commend, cheer, and brace up two exceptional pupils: Adedayo Farouq and Ugwumade Ifechukwu. These brilliant minds have earned the honor of representing Ikorodu LGEA and Education District II at the prestigious 2025 Governor’s Quiz Competition.
“Their journey to this stage was no small feat. Adedayo and Ifechukwu triumphed over strong contenders from Kosofe, Epe, and Somolu LGEAs, securing their place as Ikorodu’s flag bearers in this intellectual showdown”, Alhaji Odumbo said.
During his visit, he charged the pupils to go for gold; not just to compete, but to conquer.

Odumbo also urged them to carry the hopes of Ikorodu and the District with pride, to let their brilliance shine, and to place the LGEA and District at the very top of the state’s educational mundial.
“This moment is more than a celebration; it’s a call to excellence, a testament to the power of preparation, and a reminder that greatness often begins in the most humble classrooms”, he said.
The educationist, who has made a great impact on the primary education sub – sector within his short time as the Education Secretary in Ikorodu, also commended the teacher who trained the pupils for the competition.

“Behind every great student, is a dedicated teacher, and in this case, that teacher is Mr. Amosun Opeoluwa.
“His mentorship and passion for excellence have been instrumental in shaping these young champions. His efforts exemplify the transformative power of quality teaching, and we salute his role in nurturing brilliance within the classroom”, he said.
